The History of Symbolum Venatores. So Far... (Updated)
The History of Symbolum Venatores is a short one, but within the fabrics of time, it is a long one. A very long one. This article will detail the first two entries of the series as well as some minor details to the upcoming third title of the series.
NOTE: This is an updated version of a previous post.
The first of the series is:
This entry details ten adventures following Gabriel Kane, one of the best and skillful monster hunters/ufologists within the Symbolum Venatores. Beginning his works in the late period of Egypt Eyalet, going across the American Civil War, the late period of Feudal Japan, the Victorian Era, and minor others, Gabriel Kane has come across many familiar faces as well as some unknown. In The Gabriel Kane Collection, Kane meets such figures like Akhenaten, Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Shogun Yoshinobu, Thomas Carnacki, Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Carmilla, Doctor Moreau, The Invisible Man, The Phantom of the Opera, and Dracula. Although The Gabriel Kane Collection is not the end of Kane’s adventures, these ten stories are only the beginning of the Symbolum Venatores and what is to come.
The second of the series is:
This entry focuses on a macabre murder mystery led by Mr. Hod, a peculiar and strange man. This story is a short one and is later revealed to be set during the Russian Revolution in a hunt for a spiritual werewolf, something Mr. Hod is very familiar with. Hod will return, but not in prose as before.
The third of the series is:
Somewhat different than the first two. Set further back in history before Gabriel Kane and Mr. Hod. War of The Two Kingdoms is set in the times of Ancient Israel, following Elrad, from the Tribe of Benjamin. A man who keeps to himself is brought into the division of the Kingdom of Israel after the death of Solomon and the succession of his son Rehoboam. What follows besides the civil war between Israel and Judah is Elrad’s introduction to the world of monsters and legends. This story is layered much differently than The Gabriel Kane Collection and Hod. Such is the way ahead as it is an origin story for the Hunters themselves as a prequel to The Gabriel Kane Collection and Hod. Elrad is brought into the Symbolum Venatores (Known as the Oth Tsayad during Ancient Israel) by several moving forces. During the civil war between Judah and Israel, Elrad is taught by Iddo the Seer concerning the ways of the Hunters, bringing him to Egypt and beyond. In the end, he becomes known as Elrad The Hunter throughout all of Israel.
The upcoming continuation of the series is Twilight of the Gods, which is a sequel to the series and a prequel to The Gabriel Kane Collection and Hod. Twilight of the Gods is set during the Viking Age as it will follow a Vikingr named Einar, who’s already a Hunter returning to England on a mission as “The End” approaches.
There is another title coming later this year besides Twilight of the Gods and that will be unveiled Friday alongside the release of the Symbolum Venatores Collection.
A small hint: A companion story to The Gabriel Kane Collection.
The Symbolum Venatores is scattered across a canvas of history and eras. There are many adventures to uncover other monster hunters and ufologists across time itself. History is their Playbook.
Symbolum Venatores Collection will includes all three of these titles and a new story titled Elrad’s Chronicles, a direct sequel to War of The Two Kingdoms.
Symbolum Venatores Collection releases this Friday in paperback and e-book formats.
