The Future of the Symbolum Venatores: 1917 Russia, Jazz Age, Transmedia, and Much More
“History is their Playbook.”
The motto of the Remnants and their historical adventures. The Symbolum Venatores is set to expand in the future to come with a handful of projects. Ranging from animation, audio, and more!
Before going into the projects’ details, here is a history lesson regarding the Symbolum Venatores IP:
Symbolum Venatores began with the ten short stories featuring Gabriel Kane, the original star of the IP and one short tale featuring the character known as Mr. Hod. The future of the IP looked bleak for a while. That is until early 2020 when the announcement came of a new entry into the Prose Series, being War of The Two Kingdoms. Taking the series further back into history, set in Ancient Israel during the time after King Solomon’s death. War of The Two Kingdoms was the first Symbolum Venatores story to expand the world-building and the landscape of the brand. Transitioning it into a fully-fledged transmedia IP.
Following the Ancient Israel story came in December 2022 with the release of Twilight of the Gods. Taking the series to the Viking Age and starring two new monster hunters in the form of Einar The Hunter and Gyda The Huntress. From there, the IP began to grow. Continuing on with October 2023’s The Monster Hunter. A new tale set in Ancient Egypt, making it the oldest story in terms of years for the IP.
What does the future for the monster hunter IP look like? Below are the official details for several upcoming projects:
Symbolum Venatores: Project Historia is set to be the first official podcast of the IP and will be non-fiction. Detailing historical and mythological details pertaining to the stories.
Symbolum Venatores: Mystery of the Magician is a project which has been in the works since 2021, unable to decide whether it should be live-action or animation. After careful consideration, the project is set to be live-action and will be under the Dark Titan Parables label. Script work is set to begin soon.
Symbolum Venatores: Red Rising was officially announced today with the announcement trailer. Mr. Hod makes his long return after his 2019 story. Set in 1917 Russia during the Revolution, Mr. Hod will track down the spiritual entity which fled his previous events. Uncovering a greater mystery than the recent murder he went to investigate.
Symbolum Venatores: Project Umbra will take the IP to 1930s New York. Following a new protagonist on a mission to discover the hidden ploys encompassing the City that Never Sleeps. The media for this project has yet to be decided.
Symbolum Venatores: Project Maleficia will bring the IP to the Witch Trials. Set to be a much darker story than any of the others before. Including a new protagonist who has a severe dislike for witches. The media for this project has yet to be decided but TV is looking to be a possibility.
